During the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s the rapid shift of land use to the construction of houses, industrial and commercial developments resulted in major changes throughout the Garden State. This growth accelerated the process of soil erosion and sediment loss, causing sediment pollution to New Jersey’s waterways.
